Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Romans 12:15
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
So many hearts are breaking and families and friends from all over our church family, local community, and our surrounding cities are mourning today over the violence and lives tragically lost over the weekend. Their lives, and very possibly yours, are forever changed, and we know God’s heart breaks for and wants to comfort them, and you, and bring people near to everyone hurting. When these things happen, we know they are not His loving, perfect will, and in addition to the direct provision and peace He wants to provide, we can not only pray for those grieving right now but reach out to them, check on them, and see what we can do to show them His love directly here on earth as well. Taking time to slow down our schedules, reflect, and reach out with a genuine heart is such a needed blessing in times like these.
Please also let us know how you or anyone you know has been effected by the shooting and/or anything else that has happened lately, because we want to be here for, listen to, grieve with, comfort, encourage, and walk with you through life in any way we can. You are loved and not alone.
